An Indianapolis man will serve 16 years for a child sexual trafficking charge stemming from an undercover operation.
Deon Dwayne McClendon, 52, was sentenced to 16 years in prison for promotion of child sexual trafficking, a Level 3 felony. Johnson Superior Court 3 Judge Douglas Cummins ordered the maximum sentence for a Level 3 felony, and McClendon will be required to register as a sex offender as a result of this conviction, according to a Johnson County Prosecutor’s Office news release.
McClendon was one of 22 men arrested as part of a three-day undercover child solicitation operation conducted in September 2024 by members of the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office and the Franklin, Edinburgh and Greenfield police departments.
