UNION COUNTY, N.C. — WCNC Charlotte has chosen to use this mugshot because of the nature of the alleged crime.

A man from Lexington, North Carolina, is in jail after the Union County Sheriff's Office said he solicited who he thought was a teenage girl for sex.

The sheriff's office said Wednesday it had partnered with the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation to handle an undercover online chat operation. During the operation, a man named Jackson Henderson reportedly made contact, thinking he was talking to a 14-year-old girl. Investigators said he arranged to meet her for sexual activity.

Instead, Henderson was arrested by both the sheriff's office and NCSBI at his home in Lexington on July 25. He's now charged with solicitation of a child by computer. Henderson was taken to jail
