ROCKFORD (WREX) — A Rockford couple is facing attempted murder charges after shooting at a car with two women and a child in it in broad daylight over the weekend.

Rockford Police say Dyvon Thompson, 34, and his girlfriend Aaliyah Talford, 28, have been charged with two counts of Attempted Murder and two counts of Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm, with Thompson also facing an Aggravated Unlawful Possession of a Weapon charge, after the shooting in a Rockford neighborhood.

The shooting happened just after 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 23 in the area of Maple St. and N. Horsman St. Police say a car was found with multiple bullet holes in it.

Officers on scene later learned that two women and a child were in the car when the shots were fired. No one was hurt in the shooting.
