PENNSYLVANIA (WTAJ) -- Attorney General Dave Sunday announced that a lawsuit has been opened against a Johnstown woman who collected money for services she did not complete while serving as director of a funeral home.
Brittany Thomas collected prepaid costs from at least 14 consumers while serving as the director of her deceased father's funeral home. The services were never fulfilled, and refunds were not issued, according to the lawsuit. The funeral home and its assets were sold in September 2023.
Thomas allegedly continued to contract for funeral services during her time managing the funeral home, including cremation, providing death notices and death certificates. She collected a total of $31,749 for these services, according to Sunday.
