KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — The Knox County Commission approved a $13.1 million contract for additions and renovations to Halls Middle School on Monday afternoon.
The resolution approved an agreement with Knoxville contractor Jenkins & Stiles, LLC. The contract specifies that the work needs to be completed within 660 days of when it starts. It includes work on the fire suppression system, plumbing, HVAC and much more.
Halls Middle School has about 1,000 students and is located on Emory Road.
The county is working on other improvements to the school system, including a planned $43.7 million elementary school coming to Farragut.
