The Small Business Administration Lower Rio Grande Valley District Office has announced that nominations are open for the 2026 SBA National Small Business Week Awards.

Small Business Week takes place May 3-9 next year to recognize the contributions of the country’s 36 million small businesses, which account for 99% of businesses in the United States, according to the SBA, which said small businesses create two out of every three new jobs and employ roughly half the nation’s workforce.

The LRGV District represents the 14 southernmost Texas counties: Aransas, Brooks, Cameron, Duval, Hidalgo, Jim Hogg, Jim Wells, Kenedy, Kleberg, Nueces, San Patricio, Starr, Willacy and Zapata.
