The Padres’ best hitter — at the moment — is getting a look in the two-hole.

With Luis Arraez getting a day off, Ramón Laureano is starting for just the second time since joining the Padres in Wednesday’s 1:10 p.m. finale in Seattle.

Laureano is hitting .330/.379/.625 with six homers and 20 RBIs in 24 games since arriving from the Orioles at the trade deadline.

His only other start in the two-hole was on Aug. 6, when Arraez slid into the leadoff spot for a day off for Fernando Tatis Jr.

Including his work in Baltimore, Laureano has 21 homers and a .300/.361/.553 batting line on the season.

His .914 OPS is not only tops among all Padres, it ranks eighth in the majors among players with at least 350 plate appearances. Only Aaron Judge (1.100), Nick Kurtz (1.034), Shohei Ohtani
