PITTSBURGH (WTAJ) -- Defensive backs James Pierre and Beanie Bishop headline a group of sixteen players that the Steelers named to their practice squad Wednesday.
Pierre has played 81 games with the Steelers, while Bishop, an undrafted free agent in 2024, started in week one last fall. Both were cut Tuesday as NFL teams whittled their rosters down to 53-players.
Pittsburgh resigned nearly everyone is parted ways at the deadline including veteran receiver Robert Woods. Once upon a time, Woods' NFL experience would have precluded him from joining the practice team, but in 2022 the league extended the rules to allow for up to six veteran players
