The 49ers are adding more depth on the defensive line.
San Francisco claimed defensive tackle Jordan Jefferson off waivers from the Jacksonville Jaguars, NBC Sports Bay Area's Matt Maiocco reported Wednesday.
Jefferson, 23, was selected by Jacksonville in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, and recorded 12 combined tackles, one sack and one pass defensed in eight games with the Jaguars last season.
In his one season at LSU in 2023, Jefferson registered 36 tackles (seven for loss) and 2.5 sacks in 13 games (six starts).
Now he joins a 49ers defensive line that accounted for 11 players on San Francisco's initial 53-man roster .
