SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Schenectady Fire Department reported that two arrests were made on Tuesday following fire investigations conducted by the Arson Task Force. Deanna Nelson, 34, and Alyssa Ballard, 34, were both charged with second-degree arson.

On August 26 just before 7 a.m., emergency crews responded to a residential fire on the 300 block of Hulett Street. Arriving firefighters found that a blaze on the home's front porch had recently been extinguished.

The Arson Task Force, which incorporates the Schenectady Fire Department, the Schenectady Police Department, the Schenectady County District Attorney's Office, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, determined through investigation that the fire had reportedly been set by a woman who was seen walkin
