WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) - An American Flag that was once flown over the nation's Capitol will soon fly above the Trumbull County Courthouse.

Congressman David Joyce's office gave county commissioners the flag along with a certificate Wednesday.

Commissioner Tony Bernard says a few weeks ago, he noticed the flag atop the courthouse was torn. So, he reached out to Joyce about receiving a flag that flew at the Capitol.

"I'm a veteran, so having a flag that was flown over the U.S. Capitol and having it here that I can look out my window and see it, it's just very rewarding. I'm sure that not only to the residents but especially to the veterans of our country," Bernard said.

Bernard says the flag will be installed at the courthouse soon.
