NEW YORK (PIX11) -- Do you have any potentially harmful household products that you want to dispose of but don't know how?

The New York City Department of Sanitation is hosting a series of 2025 SAFE Disposal events through October, providing city residents with a way to safely dispose of potentially harmful household products for free.

Accepted items include pesticides, mercury-containing devices, paints, automotive fluids, medications, and electronics, which may no longer be collected with trash.

The following events are rain or shine and run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Sunday, Sept. 7: Manhattan • Union Square, North Plaza • South side of 17th Street, between Park Avenue South and Broadway. Cars approach from Park Avenue South and 20th Street

Sunday, Sept. 21: Brooklyn • Floyd Benn
