MINNEAPOLIS — Pope Leo XIV has responded to the mass shooting at a Minneapolis church that took the life of at least two children and left 17 others injured.
The Pope expressed "his heartfelt condolences and the assurance of spiritual closeness to all those affected by this terrible tragedy, especially the families now grieving the loss of a child," according to a telegram that was sent to Archbishop Bernard Hebda of Minneapolis.
According to Vatican News, the telegram was sent in the name of Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State.
