Researchers from the US-based Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) have developed an AI system to help decode “aviation English.” This development comes as radio communications are often misunderstood. The new AI tool transcribes and translates aviation radio communications.

Indeed, although many aspects of aviation have advanced through automation and new technologies, radio communication has seen little change, according to Andrew Schneider, an assistant professor in the College of Aviation and director of the university’s Speech and Language AI Lab.
