Areas of the Alexander Mountain burn scar may face flooding Wednesday afternoon as heavy rain hits Loveland.
The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning effective until 4:45 p.m. for areas of the burn scar in southeastern Larimer County, including Cedar Cove.
“If your area is affected, please be aware of your surroundings and don’t drive through flood waters,” the alert stated. “If necessary, seek higher ground.”
Excessive rainfall over the burn scar will cause debris flow of rock, mud, vegetation, and other loose materials, NoCoAlert stated on the warning.
