(NewsNation) — Oscar-winning filmmaker Alex Gibney is set to direct an upcoming Luigi Mangione documentary for Hulu, according to reporting from Deadline.

Deadline reports the streaming service has greenlit the untitled project, and filming is underway. Gibney is slated to direct and will produce the film through his Jigsaw Productions company along with Anonymous Content.

Mangione pleaded not guilty in April to federal stalking and murder charges related to the fatal shooting of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.

The U.S. Department of Justice has indicated it will seek the death penalty — a move directed by Attorney General Pam Bondi, who called the killing a “premeditated, cold-blooded assassination.”
