MCKINNEY, Texas — After months of waiting, the Whole Foods in McKinney is officially open. The Austin-based grocer opened the 47,918-square-foot store on Wednesday.

The new grocery store at 8701 West University Drive is an anchor for McKinney's West Grove District , a mixed-use development that will house apartments, office space and retail.

“It’s an exciting day as we open our doors in McKinney and join this wonderful community,” said Afsaneh Eshaghi, Store Team Leader at Whole Foods Market. “Our team is passionate about great food and great service, and this store brings an exciting mix of high-quality options for every shopper."

According to a release from the company, the new store features over 600 local items from Texas and neighboring states.
