(FOX40.COM) — Inyo National Forest is reminding the community of helpful tips to prevent human-caused fires when visiting public lands this Labor Day weekend. Video Above: Upper 90s ahead this upcoming Labor Day weekend

Authorities report that nine out of 10 wildfires are caused by humans nationally. Approximately half of all national forest wildfires are also attributed to human causes.

To avoid human-caused wildfires, Inyo National Forest asks visitors to keep these ideas in mind: • Leave fireworks at home: Fireworks are not permitted on the Inyo National Forest. • Keep vehicle safety in mind: Do not drive or park on dry grass, as hot exhaust pipes or sparks can start a fire.
