SPOKANE, Wash. — If you are driving near the Spokane Arena, you might see some construction work in the area.
Grind and overlay work is happening right now on Boone Avenue between Washington Street and Monroe Street, causing delays for people in the area.
The City of Spokane said Boone Avenue will have lane closures between Washington and Monroe during the grind overlay project.
The City said construction started Tuesday, August 26 and is expected to wrap up by Monday, September 8.
The City is asking motorists, pedestrians and cyclists to be careful in the area and plan for alternative routes during peak traffic times, if need be.
The City is also asking people to slow down in the area and support local businesses impacted by the construction.
