PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) -- This year's mural to commemorate Providence's annual PVDFest was revealed to the public Wednesday.

Mayor Brett Smiley and other local leaders gathered for an unveiling at the AS220 Project Gallery Space building in downtown Providence

The mural, called "PROVCurio" was funded by American Rescue Plan Act funding. It's design came through a collaboration between artist Shey Rivera Ríos, The Avenue Concept, and Amber Art and Design.

"Their engagement with the community ensured that this mural is a reflection of our neighbors and serves as a love letter to Providence and to everyone who has chosen to make this city their home," Smiley said. "The PVDFest mural site also recognizes an important cultural partner, AS220, which is celebrating its 40th year."
