MINOT AIR FORCE BASE, N.D. (KMOT) - Minot Air Force Base’s 5th Munitions Squadron took home the trophy at the Air Force Combat Operations Competition for the very first time.
The annual competition was held earlier this month at Beale Air Force Base in California.
When they competed in 2022, they placed last out of the eight teams.
Last year, the squadron was just short one point in taking home the trophy.
But now, 10 airmen competed against every Global Strike Command installation, winning seven out of nine events, and placing first out of eight teams—making them world champions.
The competition tested their ability to build bombs and ammo, transport equipment and operate with limited resources.
