CHANDLER, Ariz. — Intel has indicated that the company may intend to lay off workers in Arizona.

Last month, Intel issued a notice through the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act signaling a layoff projected to affect nearly 700 employees in the Grand Canyon State.

On Aug. 25, the company issued another WARN notice stating that 97 local workers may be affected by changes in the company's workforce.

The WARN Act obligates employers to give employees a 60-day notice ahead of a mass layoff.

This is the third WARN notice issued by Intel in Arizona within the last year. Last October, the company filed a notice indicating 385 workers were going to be affected by possible layoffs.
