EUCLID, Ohio (WOIO) - The mother who pulled her 4-year-old son from a car right before it was crushed by a train spoke with 19 News.

“It felt like I was staring death in the face,” said Darnisha Howard, “like Final Destination, like a movie.”

Howard explains she, alongside her 4-year-old son Dantreze Fields, and her boyfriend were passengers in a red Jeep SUV at around 9 a.m. last Friday at the railroad crossing between Nottingham and Dille Roads.

As Howard drove over the crossing, her vehicle stalled.

“I’m crossing the tracks and I get stuck,” she said. “I tried everything, and the car just locked.”
