HUNTINGDON COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) -- Drivers in Huntingdon County will see a road closure and detour on Route 305 (Main Street) over Derry Run Bridge in Porter Township and Alexandria Borough beginning Sept. 10, PennDOT announced.
A 0.3-mile detour will begin for local traffic using Route 305 (Juniata Valley Pike) to Shelton Avenue and then back to Route 305 for commercial vehicles. Truck traffic will use a 40-mile detour using Route 305 (Bridge Street) to Route 22 (William Penn Highway) east to Route 26 back to Route 305 (Greenwood Road).
The $2.1 million project, contracted by Cottle's Asphalt Maintenance Inc., includes bridge replacement work over Derry Run at the intersection of Route 4005, as well as upgrades to guide rails and drainage, approach paving, and resurfacing of Route 305.
