Correspondence between a Miami-area rabbi and the director of the Florida Division of Emergency Management suggests that will have no detainees in a matter of days.

This news comes days after Gov. Ron DeSantis said the state would violate U.S. District Judge Kathleen Williams' recent ruling, which said the state and federal government should pack up all equipment and people and leave the .

DeSantis said last week that Williams was an activist judge who was trying to write policy from the bench. The state would be undeterred, he said.

Attorneys for the state filed a 52-page motion Aug. 26 at the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals seeking a stay of a preliminary injunction issued last week by Williams in a lawsuit filed by environmental groups and joined by the Miccosukee Tribe.
