NORWICH, Conn. (WFSB) - Eyewitness News is getting a behind the scenes look at how school buses in our state are inspected.
It is a thorough process that every school bus in Connecticut has to go through.
More than 100 buses used across southeast Connecticut are kept at a bus yard in the Taftville section of Norwich.
They have all been inspected, just like the more than 10,000 school buses across the state as we head into a new school year.
“If we can get to and from school, home, school activities, and field trips safely, then we are doing ourselves a favor for the future,” said Sgt. Jaclyn Devore of the School Transportation Unit, DMV Police.
Devore is part of the Connecticut DMV Police School Transportation Unit, which has inspected more than 10,600 school buses in the last year.
