MARSHFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - It was a brazen attempt to steal someone’s hard-earned money. Thanks to the swift action of tellers, no cash was taken, but police are still looking for the man.

Terri Copeland says a man walked into Southern Bank with a passport and pretended to be her father.

“I hope someone knows him,” she said. “Points him out, and the police arrest him.”

Marshfield police confirm to On Your Side they’re working on a few similar ID theft cases. Swindlers walk into banks, posing as customers trying to withdraw thousands in cash.

“He knew his social security number, his date of birth, checking account number, address, his phone number ... everything,” she said.

He had it all, but these workers knew something was up.
