MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The American Red Cross is reopening its shelter for flood victims on Wednesday after they had to move locations from Marshall High School due to school starting.
Now, the new shelter is at the Milwaukee Environmental Sciences Academy located at 6600 W Melvina St.
According to Red Cross officials, from Aug. 26 to Aug. 27, 51 people stayed overnight.
"The count kind of changes on a day-to-day basis," said Regional Communications Director Jennifer Warren.
Warren said the shelter will remain open for as long as necessary.
“There’s a lot of tired people out there, this has impacted a lot of the community," Warren said. “Everybody is just trying to get through this.”
