HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Hendersonville is hitting the pause button on any new apartment developments in the city limits.

City leaders approved a nine-month ban at their Tuesday night meeting, though not without pushback.

Hendersonville Mayor Jamie Clary told News 2 the city is growing at a rapid rate—so fast it's hard to keep up—and this pause would help the city play catch-up with other projects that need to get done.

Alderman Michael Martin, who voted in favor of the measure, explained the rate of growth was starting to become an issue for the safety and health of the community. The city's resources were just not able to sustain large amounts of people moving to town.
