ELK COUNTY (WTAJ) - A growing number of officials and organizations are voicing concerns over the ongoing state budget impasse, which threatens the operations of non-profits across the region.

Non-profit organizations, including CAPSEA, a victims service agency in Elk and Cameron counties, are at risk of losing essential funding due to the budget stalemate. These organizations rely on state reimbursements to cover their program costs, and without a budget, these reimbursements are halted.

"It could be devastating not only for CAPSEA, but for many nonprofits. We provide essential services to our community, and without funding, we face significant challenges," Executive Director of CAPSEA Billie Jo Weyant said.
