TRINITY COUNTY, Texas (KTRE) - Trinity County Sheriff Woody Wallace says a shelter-in-place is no longer in effect for the Westwood Shores because of a dangerous hydrogen sulfide leak. However, he said that people should not attempt to drive into the area, as a recovery effort is underway at this time.
Wallace said the bodies of three people who were found unconscious underground are now going to be recovered. He said the leak is contained, but they are still working the scene as an emergency.
Wallace said the gas is contained in one manhole underground.
