GLOVERSVILLE, N.Y. (NEWS10) – As we near the end of breastfeeding awareness month, we heard from one local woman who is raising awareness in her own unique way. The Amsterdam woman shared her incredible story of generosity after she overcame a difficult pregnancy.

Diane Eames donated over 800 ounces of breast milk to the New York Milk Bank. Eames used the Milk Depot at Nathan Littaur Hospital.

Eames said she suffered from preeclampsia. Donated breast milk helped her son Cole after he was born premature.

“The idea of having somebody else's milk for them, for me at least it was a little weird, the idea of that. But ultimately, it came down to what was going be best for Cole. So, knowing that was available, that was going be good for him, made it okay to accept somebody else's,” said Eames
