ATLANTA ( WANF /Gray News) - The director of the Atlanta-based Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is out after less than a month on the job.

According to the Department of Health and Human Services, Susan Monarez is no longer in the leadership position as of Wednesday.

“We thank her for her dedicated service to the American people,” the department shared on social media . “@SecKennedy has full confidence in his team at @CDCgov who will continue to be vigilant in protecting Americans against infectious diseases at home and abroad.”
