ROSWELL, Ga. — An ex-NFL player from metro Atlanta has been arrested in Roswell in an extensive financial fraud scheme, according to police.

Roswell Police took Darryl "Buster" Skrine into custody on Wednesday on 18 charges related to the scheme. Skrine, who played 11 seasons in the National Football League, was also arrested back in August 2023 for allegedly trying to defraud banks across Canada. He was accused of more than $100,000 in check fraud.

Skrine was granted bond and was placed on GPS monitoring in April 2024, which he removed and fled back to the United States.

Roswell Police began its investigation on Skrine in July after a woman said she was being financially exploited by Skrine. Through the investigation, police said they learned that Skrine had been targeting multiple w
