YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) -- From faded lettering to hand-painted posters, signs can say more than just words, and one Northeast Ohio artist is using them to spark nostalgia and tell the story of community.
When you step into YSU's Cliffe College of Creative Arts, signs on the walls don't just advertise; they tell stories from the past.
Canton native and artist Ron Copeland turned everyday signage he works on into a gallery statement in this new exhibit Fragmented Narrative: Language of the Sign.
"Some of the fonts come from different signs that I've seen on my travels. Some of the typography comes from just like, pure inspiration to what the type says," Copeland said. "I would actually just flip through like vintage magazines, like a 1950s homemaker magazine or something like that, and t
