CLARKSBURG. W.Va. (WBOY) — Over the past two days, a local group of volunteers has been working to restore a cemetery in Clarksburg, which they say is full of the city's history.

The work is being done by the Historic Clarksburg Cemetery Preservation Alliance at the Independent Order of Odd Fellows Cemetery, just past the GoMart downtown. Officials with the alliance said that around 100 monuments were knocked down at the cemetery, and they've been trying to fix the location up for 14 years.

As part of the work done by the alliance, local businesses have been volunteering their time and using heavy machinery to fix the monuments. Alliance officials told 12 News that the cemetery has immense historic value.
