BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- The Kern County Coroner’s Office identified the driver of a semi-truck who died after the truck overturned off-ramp near Interstate 5.

Hongyi Ji, 62, of Orlando, Florida was driving a semi-truck on northbound I-5 on the off-ramp to Laval Road West in Arvin on Monday, according to the coroner’s office.

The truck then crossed the Laval Road on-ramp to northbound I-5 before rolling over at around 2:20 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol. Ji was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:47 p.m. despite life saving measures.

The truck was reportedly transporting boxes of jeans at the time of the crash.
