PONCHA SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - The Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office said it is investigating a possible attempted child abduction that allegedly occurred in Poncha Springs on Sunday.

Deputies say they received a report that a small child was playing in the front yard of his home when a vehicle pulled over. They said the male driver rolled down his window and asked the child if he wanted to go for a ride.

According to deputies, the child then ran back into his home as the vehicle drove away.

The male was described as being in his teens or early 20s, and the vehicle was described as a red or maroon El Camino. Deputies said an older model red Dodge pickup truck may have been traveling with the vehicle.
