HUDSON, Ohio — Hudson leaders and politicians are condemning antisemitic hate speech after a protest Saturday near the city's downtown.

The group of protestors was small, but the outcry has been significant throughout the community. City resident and Democratic state Sen. Casey Weinstein is now speaking out against the display, saying there is no place for hate in Hudson.

"I don't think being silent about this and just letting it happen is a way to call it out," Weinstein said. "I try to shine light on these things. I think sunlight is the best disinfectant — letting people know, you know, it's real. Hatred is real. It's out there."

Weinstein said he found Saturday's protest deeply troubling, and has heard from many constituents who feel the same.
