FITCHBURG, Wis. (WKOW) — Big changes are coming to the Fitchburg Police Department. The city's Common Council voted to move forward with plans for a new building for the agency, replacing the current space the police department uses on the bottom floors of City Hall that Police Chief Alfonso Morales said was never meant for police.
"The city of Fitchburg has been growing so fast that it's, if you look at it like childhood, it outgrew its pants, outgrew its clothes, and what I mean by that... the police department has never had its own police station," said Morales.
