Four businesses in Fort Wayne are expected to lose their property tax breaks after not creating enough jobs or payroll to keep them.
Fort Wayne City Council often approves agreements to phase in property taxes over up to 10 years to attract businesses bringing new developments and jobs. Recipients are required to file annual paperwork that shows their progress, and their agreements risk being terminated if they aren't delivering at least 75% of their promises.
ElringKlinger Manufacturing Indiana Inc.; its landlord 2677 Persistence Drive Investors, LLC; Home Reserve, LLC; and Indiana Oxygen Company, Inc. were among the 10 declared non-compliant with their tax abatement agreements.
