BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- A man arrested in connection with a shooting at a trailer park was arraigned Wednesday on charges including attempted murder.

Kody Charles Ellis, 35, had not guilty pleas entered on his behalf to charges of attempted murder, assault with a gun and possession of a gun by a felon, court records show.

He was ordered held on $1 million bail and is due back in court next month.

The shooting happened Monday morning at a trailer park in the 6000 block of State Road, sheriff's officials said. The victim was in stable condition, officials said.

Ellis has a lengthy criminal record, with prior convictions for assault with a gun, burglary and possession of a stolen vehicle, among other crimes.
