The Portland man whose unseeing eye allowed drug use and ultimately a fatal overdose at his home agreed to maintain sobriety and keep children out of his life going forward.

Hooman Rahnamoon, 52, pleaded guilty Wednesday to frequenting a place where drugs were used and endangering the welfare of a minor, both misdemeanors, after the Feb. 18, 2023 death of Lauren Dominguez.

On the night of the overdose, the 15-year-old Franklin High School ninth grader had snuck out and met with Rahnamoon’s 17-year-old son at his Northeast Broadway home. Her parents, Marc and Tracy Dominguez, discovered her missing the next morning and rushed to the home after reviewing their daughter’s social media messages.

When they arrived, Rahnamoon answered the door and said their daughter was already gone.
