Three Portland councilors and six City Hall staff will join a junket flying to Vienna next month to learn more about the Austrian capital’s approach to affordable housing.

Councilors Jamie Dunphy, Candace Avalos and Mitch Green will pay for the trip from their office budgets. They will spend six days learning about social housing, which Vienna implemented starting in the early 20th century to subsidize and regulate units.
