After winning their respective 2025 season openers, both Lompoc Valley high school football teams will play on the road Friday night.

Lompoc will play at Santa Ynez (1-0) at 7 p.m. The game was originally scheduled to be at Lompoc but was moved to Santa Ynez because of lighting issues at Huyck Stadium. Cabrillo will play at East Bakersfield (0-1), also at 7 p.m.

Cabrillo served notice last week that it's gearing for another strong season after going 7-4 in 2024, Cabrillo's best showing since 2011. Gabe Barraza threw for two touchdowns, and the Conquistadores beat Selma 31-14 at Huyck Stadium.

Selma won the 2024 CIF Central Section Division 5 championship, but graduation did a number on the Bears who lost all of their leaders from that squad.
