MONROE, La. (KNOE) - The Monroe Army Recruiting Station made a stop at Ouachita Parish High School on Wednesday, Aug. 27.
Students took part in flight, mission and parachute simulators.
They also learned about enlistment bonuses and tuition help to continue their education abroad, while serving their country.
Army recruiters highlighted how high school sports build leadership, teamwork and fitness - all values that reflect the Army’s mission.
They also say only 29 percent of youth are qualified to serve.
Recruiters, and their simulators, will also be at Bayou Jamb this Friday and Saturday at ULM’s Malone Stadium.
