LEWISBURG, WV (WVNS) - A sinkhole has developed in the city of Lewisburg.
This sinkhole has popped up at the intersection of Court and Foster Streets, which are blocked off as a result.
Joseph Thomas is the fire chief of Lewisburg Volunteer Fire Department, which is located right down the block from the scene. He gave 59News an update on how the city of Lewisburg is approaching the situation.
“The City [of Lewisburg] just wants everybody to know that, if possible, just stay away from the area. We are working on getting the problem fixed. The engineers are looking into what caused the issue right now. As soon as we can figure out what caused it and everything, they want to make sure they get the problem fixed correctly. If people just stay away for the safety of the contractors here work
