MEMPHIS, Tenn. — DeAndre Brown, Shelby County’s director of the Office of Reentry, was arrested Wednesday after being indicted this week on a string of felony charges, including theft, computer crimes and money laundering.
A Shelby County spokesperson confirmed to WREG that Brown, who also founded the nonprofit Lifeline to Success, is "currently suspended without pay" from his county role.
Court records show Brown, 50, was indicted by a Shelby County grand jury Tuesday. He is being held on $1.1 million bond.
His case includes 12 felony counts dating back several years, including: • Multiple counts of theft of property over $250,000 • Computer crimes exceeding $60,000 • Money laundering • Official misconduct
