MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- One of five MATA board members who resigned following escalating tensions over the search for a new CEO is talking about her decision to leave.
The resignations come just days after the City of Memphis announced it was extending MATA’s CEO search, canceling interviews with the two finalists who had already flown into Memphis for in-person meetings.
"We were being called liars. We were being told what our job was not and what it was, and that we were doing a lousy job," said Sandi Klink, a former MATA board member, in an exclusive interview with WREG.
Former MATA Board Member, Sandi Klink, told WREG about the disrespect MATA board members felt after finding out the city council would not even meet with the two final candidates for the company's vacant CEO position
