PAPILLION, Neb. (WOWT) - Driving across Sarpy County can sometimes be a hassle, but officials hope a new project will speed up your commute.
“It’s been a long time coming from the conceptual idea to the actual planning,” Sarpy County Commissioner Angi Burmeister said.
The project will create a four-lane expressway connecting 10th Street to 42nd Street. According to Burmeister, the new highway will have no stops along the way.
“It’s definitely going to help all of the Sarpy residents get from one side of the county to the other,” Burmeister said.
Sarpy County has grown 20% in the last decade, making it the fastest-growing county in Nebraska. Burmeister said the expansion is about planning for that growth.
